Random Happenings

Young Life girls trip to Starbucks.

Carly being the best YL Leader ever. What a trooper!

Flu shot day at work and since everyone is either a nurse or a doctor, we got to give each other shots! It was fun! Aneil wanted to get back at Dr. Gulden for his crappy day so he volunteered to give him his shot. Brave soul.

Kathleen actually let Aneil give her her shot. Another brave soul, considering OR nurses don't ever give medications PO or any other route. So the last time Aneil has probably given a shot was in nursing school!! Haha! Same goes for me....

The Sara's... One is with an "H" and the other is not. Get it right or you will be in trouble.

Dr Harrison aka "Skip" just haning out at the front desk waiting for the surgeon to arrive. We do a lot of waiting in the OR.

The Twlight Series

This series called the Twilight series is quite possibly my favorite series of books I've ever read. I have been recommending these books to all my friends and co-workers. My Young Life girls first told me about the books and I was hooked when I started reading!!! It is a passionate, scary and twisted fairy tale story told in the present day. I loved every minute of it and can't wait for the movie to come out next month!!!!! ( Nov. 21st)

The books are about 9$ at Target so if you have some free time try the first book out! You won't be able to stop until you've read all 4 books!!!
Warning: don't start the series unless you have time. These book tend to suck you in for hours at a time!!!

I loaned my copy of Twilight out but here all the other three sitting on my bedside table. I have been sleep deprived for the past two weeks because of these books.

Young Life Fall 08'

Work Fun....

I love my job! Except when I work 21 hours straight.... then not so much.

Me, Jen and Dr Anthony doing a spleenectomy and hernia repair.

Me doing a esophagogastrectomy with Dr. J.

Family Vacation-Montana

Well, I just got back from a 6 day family reunion/vacation. I had a good time but I hate going out of town without my husband. He had to stay and get his flying hours in. I took about 400 pictures...I know I know. Insane. I will post a few on here to show you what all we did!!

In the terminal on the way to the plane!!!

A picture I took out the window somewhere between Dallas and Billings, Montana. Beautiful! I can't believe Matt gets to see this view every day!!!

We just stepped off the plane and I was COLD in Montana! 58 degrees F!

This was the cute farm house we stayed in! It was in the middle of nowhere.

Random:
A few of my Young Life girls told me about this new romance/thriller book that just came out. I thought, ok, I guess I give it a try. OMG!!! This is such an amazing book. I really was skeptical when I heard it was about a vampire and a human falling in love. I'm not really into vampires....but the story line is awesome! The book has the same amount of romance as it does freaky/send-a-shiver-down-your-spine scary parts!! Its great! I totally recommend reading it!
I couldn't put it down. I finised it in 3 days and was crushed when I realized I didn't have the sequal to start immediatly after I was finished with the first!! I bought the second at the airport on the way home!! I couldn't wait!!

Mom and I next to the bonfire!

Me in the boat that we rented. We had gorgeous scenery all around us!

My parents in the boat. I was cold outside!

We got to Kayak!

Family Picture minus my brother who is a Jr. at RICE.

Isn't the sky pretty! I took some fun pictures while they jumped bails of hay!

Baby Fever

So I now officially have baby fever. So much in fact that I told Matt today that whenever he's ready....I'm ready. Well, he is definitely not ready to actively start trying but he did say he wouldn't be freaked out if we got pregnant now like we both would have been if it would have happened right after we got married. Now that we've been married almost 3 yrs, it has creeped inside my head more often. We still haven't traveled to the places we wanted to and we still haven't bought a house yet and we would like to do that first. I have to say within the next two years I think we might consider it. Especally since 1 of our close friends just announced she took 11 pregnancy tests and 6 came back positive. Also, my cousin who is a couple years older, just announced she is also pregnant! So we might get to practice the whole baby thing on someone else pretty soon! Matt really wants to hold a baby and get a better feel of it. After that I think I will really be able to tell when he will be ready. I really feel like I was made to be a mom, not a nurse, a mom, first and foremost. I love my job but I really feel like being a mom is so much more important and priceless. I might never quit my job all together but I feel like I won't want to work full time. We will see!! Who knows! This is such a random subject I have gotten off on!!!! Thanks for letting me get it all out!!!!

Young Life Camp July 19-27th

What an awesome experience! It was so nice to be in the mountains and be away from work! We had 4 adult leaders and 18 high schoolers go. It was crazy but fun. Here are some fun pictures!
