Cold Shower

Everyone has their thing that helps them relax after a long day at work. I love taking a long steaming hot shower. So you can imagine how utterly disappointed I was ( after driving home from Dallas in 28 degree icy weather and after doing 2 transplants), when I turned the shower on and got in only to be standing under COLD water! I had the guts to wait just a little longer thinking it would get warmer. But did it??? NOPE! So I jumped out, almost literally, still freezing cold, and dirty no doubt. Now this happens all the time if I do laundry beforehand or ran the dishwasher. But I had been gone all day! It didn't make sense. Then it hit me! I had hand washed some dishes from dinner before I got in the shower! The water was so hot I almost burnt my hand! Just that short amount of time washing dishes used up all the hot water! Our hot water heater is half the size of a normal one size of a normal home water heater. Just one more reason why I REALLY want a house!

New Beginnings

Our good friends Erik and Kama just found out last week that they are having a GIRL!!! Her name is going to be Paxton! So cute. They found out during the day and after work a lot of us went over to their house to watch the sonogram video. I made them promise to not say what it was until I got to see the sonogram so I could try and guess if it was a boy or a girl. I looked and looked for a little peepee and couldn't see one!!!

I went to Target on my way to their house and bought a cute little onsie and a hat in both blue and pink since I didn't know what they were having. It was so fun looking at all the newborn clothes! Then I gave them the pink hat after they told me it was a girl. Now I have a blue onsie and hat that are so cute! I was going to return it but...for some reason I kind of want to keep it just incase I have a boy. It's weird to hold the hat in my hand and think it could possibly be on my future sons head someday. Thats really crazy to think about!

~New House~
In an earlier post I mentioned that we went house shopping with some friends who were trying to move out of our apartments that we all live in and into a house. We looked at about 5 different houses and the last one they/we loved! They put an offer on it and it was accepted!!!! How exciting! The picture on Remax only shows the outside but the inside is the best part!! When we go over there again I will take pictures and post them. I am so excited for them and can't wait for the time when Matt and I get to purchase our first house!!

Organization 101

Lately, Matt and I have been in a major "spring cleaning" mood.  After seeing that home in my previous post, we did some major cleaning and organizing of our apartment. I am kicking myself now for not taking "before" pictures but just imagine the average closet in an apartment with very little storage space.... crowded and unorganized. I discovered one of my favorite store's-THE CONTAINER STORE!!! It is definitely expensive but after I went and collected a few things my closet and pantry were transformed! Here are a few pictures of what it looks like now. I feel so much better about my apartment, which is good since we will probably be here for another year.

Laundry room with cute green baskets I got for 4.99 at Walmart.

These luggage looking boxes were kind of expensive but perfect for storing all of our ugly books and computer stuff. The container store is so creative.

Life with Maverick~
I know it's silly but having a puppy has really helped me get a little taste of what it might be like to have a child. Now that I have Maverick I no longer want to go anywhere after work, I feel an urgency to get home and be with him. Also, when Maverick hurt his hip a month ago and was limping really bad it freaked me out and we were a mess until we got him into the Vet the next morning. Especially when we didn't know if he was in pain all night. We even thought about giving him Tylenol...BUT thanks to google we found out it is fatal to dogs....good to know. Thank God he didn't break his leg, he just had a muscle/tissue injury. We have really enjoyed taking care of Maverick together, training him, feeding him, deciding who's turn it is to take him outside to go potty....it's good practice!! Also, the past few years Christmas has really been quiet and uneventful. It's was surprising how a puppy added so much joy to our Christmas! Watching him rip open his gifts and get all exited when he smelled his huge bone! I am so glad we got a dog. It's funny to think how it was such a random decision one weekend to look for a puppy. Thank you Lord for knowing our seemingly miniscule desires!

House Hunting

So some of our very good friends are currently house hunting and invited us to go with them to look at houses on Saturday. So, me being a huge fan of HGTV and always having a interest in other peoples decorating skills we joined them!! We went to this one house and it wanted to marry the woman who lived there!!!! ( Just kidding Matt) It was like walking into a hotel!!! Everything was perfectly color coordinated and in it's exact place. AND everything was labeled with a label maker!!!! I took a picture of their pantry....it was amazing. I totally want to do this when we get a house! I have to admit it is a little OCD...ok it's a LOT OCD but I love it! Their closets were perfectly organized and this lady can decorate!!!! The house itself was too small for my liking but man, you didn't even notice the actual house underneath all that decor and organization! Take a look:

Twilight Update!!!!!!!

March 21st Twilight is coming out on DVD!!!

Jacob is staying Jacob in New Moon!!! Yea! I was worried they were going to change actors.

true love

Christmas and other happenings

Matt got The Office DVD game from my parents. We love The Office!! It's just our kind of humor.

We have this thing on our Mac that distorts faces so we were all laughing at our funny looking faces.

My brother and sister having fun with Maverick! I can't believe he kept that bow on for the picture!

This little signs says "The higher the hair the closer to God". Totally my sisters policy when doing  peoples hair. I thought she'd like that for her salon.
